Location Manager
A member of the film and television production crew, responsible for the practical arrangements when filming on locations outside the studio. The work is done both during pre-production and actual filming.
The responsibilities include everything related to the locations and their surroundings, from location rental agreements to organizing the clean-up. Duties include filming permits, parking, sanitary and maintenance facilities and in some cases the practical logistics of the production.
The job description may vary slightly from country to country.
Location Scout
A member of the film and television production crew, responsible of finding filming locations and obtaining preliminary filming permits outside the studio.
The scout works in close cooperation with the director, cinematographer and set designer. The work usually falls into the pre-production phase.
The duties of a location manager and a location scout are often performed by the same person.
